Itinerary:

DAY 1

Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your 4-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour starts with an early pickup from your hotel or airport. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and enjoy scenic mountain views. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous movie location. After lunch in Ouarzazate, visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios. Drive through the Rose Valley before reaching the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 2

Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Sahara – Camel Trek

After breakfast, explore the spectacular Dades Gorges. Continue to the Todra Gorges and walk between its impressive red cliffs. Drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad before continuing to Merzouga. In the afternoon, enjoy a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset from the dunes before reaching your desert camp. Enjoy dinner, Berber music, and a night under the stars.

DAY 3

Discover Local Nomads – desert – Khamlia – palms

Wake up early to watch the Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4. Spend the day exploring the desert region. Visit an old kohl mine and meet a local nomad family in their traditional tents. Enjoy Berber tea and learn about their desert lifestyle. Continue to Khamlia village for a Gnaoua music performance. After lunch, explore the palm groves and visit seasonal Merzouga Lake. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4

Merzouga–Erfoud–Ifrane–Fes

Start the final day with breakfast before visiting Rissani souk, one of the region’s traditional markets. Continue to Erfoud and visit a fossil workshop. Drive through the scenic Ziz Valley before reaching Midelt for lunch. Continue through the Cedar Forest and look for Barbary macaques. Then visit Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Finally, continue to Fes, where your 4-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour ends with a hotel or airport transfer.
