Itinerary:

DAY 1

Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Start your 3-day Fes desert tour with an early pickup from your hotel or Fes airport. Travel through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” then continue to the Cedar Forest to see Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and follow the scenic Ziz Valley toward Merzouga. In the afternoon, enjoy a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes and watch the sunset. Spend the night at a Sahara desert camp with traditional dinner and Berber music.

DAY 2

Explore Merzouga Desert – Nomads – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi

Enjoy an early Sahara sunrise before returning to Merzouga by camel. Spend the day exploring the Merzouga desert region by 4x4. Visit a traditional nomad camp, discover an ancient mine, and experience Gnawa music in Khamlia village. You can also visit the palm grove and seasonal Merzouga Lake. Enjoy dinner and overnight in a hotel or riad near the desert.

DAY 3

Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes

After breakfast, leave the Merzouga Sahara Desert and travel to Rissani, famous for its traditional souk and historic importance. Continue to Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop, then drive through the Ziz Valley with a scenic viewpoint overlooking the palm groves.
