Itinerary:

DAY 1

Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate

Your 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour starts with an early pickup from your hotel, riad, or Marrakech airport. Drive through the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Enjoy panoramic views and photo stops along the way. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs. Explore its traditional clay buildings, which have appeared in films such as Gladiator and The Mummy. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios before dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

DAY 2

Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert – Camel Trekking

After breakfast, leave Ouarzazate and drive towards Agdz. Continue through the beautiful Draa Valley, known for its palm groves, old kasbahs, and traditional Berber villages. Enjoy lunch in Nkob before continuing towards Merzouga. In the afternoon, arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes and begin your camel trek across the Sahara. Stop on a high dune to watch the sunset before continuing to your desert camp. Enjoy dinner, Berber music, and a night under the stars.

DAY 3

Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 and meet your driver. Continue to Rissani and explore its traditional souk. Then visit Erfoud, famous for fossils and fossil workshops. Drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad before reaching the Todra Gorges. Take a walk between the towering red cliffs and enjoy the dramatic scenery. After lunch, continue to the Dades Valley, with a stop at the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations. Dinner and overnight in Dades.

DAY 4

Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Amridil Kasbah – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive through the Rose Valley and visit Kalaa M’Gouna, famous for its rose products and annual Rose Festival. Continue through the palm groves of Skoura and visit the historic Amridil Kasbah. After lunch, head towards the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Enjoy the mountain scenery and photo stops along the way before arriving in Marrakech. Your 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel, riad, or airport.
