Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Your 6-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes starts with an early pickup. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and enjoy the mountain views. Continue to Telouet Kasbah before visiting Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous film location. Then travel to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, visit the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Continue through the palm groves of Skoura and visit the historic Amridil Kasbah. Drive through the Rose Valley and Dades Valley. Stop at the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations before visiting Todra Gorges. In the afternoon, reach Merzouga and begin your camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset before reaching your desert camp. Enjoy dinner, Berber music, and a night under the stars.
Exploring Merzouga Region
Wake up early to enjoy the Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Merzouga region. Visit a local nomad family and learn about their traditional desert lifestyle. Continue to Khamlia village and enjoy its famous Gnaoua music. After lunch, explore the palm groves and visit seasonal Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingo Lake. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast, leave the desert and travel to Erfoud. Visit a local fossil workshop before continuing through the scenic Ziz Valley. Stop in Midelt for lunch. Then drive through the Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques. Continue to Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes.
Exploring Fes
Enjoy a guided tour of Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. Explore the UNESCO-listed Medina, Royal Palace gates, traditional tanneries, and colorful souks. Visit historic madrasas, artisan workshops, and important cultural sites. Enjoy lunch in the Medina before continuing your exploration. Return to your riad for the night.
Departure from Fes
After breakfast, enjoy some free time for shopping or a final walk around Fes. Your driver will then transfer you to Fes Airport or your accommodation. This marks the end of your 6-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour.

The Fes city tour is a historical trip of one of the oldest cities in Morocco so clients will be able to embrace the culture. You will tour the medieval medina, now a designated UNESCO World Heritage site filled with cluttered alleyways and commerce and craft and religious buildings.
